Hello, My name is Desmond C. Madu, a senior undergrad at UofM. Over the course of the summer, I will be working with Dr. Tsoi at Medical School One analyzing the different expression levels of Long no coding RNA in genes. I have been working with Dr. Tsoi before for about a year now but this will be my first time back since the end of classes a month ago. In the past four years, I have been part of or work with five different labs, so I have had many first days and many first days back. I always expect it to be exciting, and in many ways it is. I get to see my old lab mates and return to my old environment, an environment where I can do something I enjoy. but for the most part, it is predictable. You work out your schedule, set up your meetings, and set your goals. A bit mundane but necessary for the future. I have lots of plans for this summer, both in and out of the lab. And today was the first step and I am glad I was able to do it.
