I’ve been working at a start up for the past two months now and there has been a number of things I wish I knew at the beginning.
- My coworkers are great source of information. Learning on the job isn’t always google searching for answers, there are perfectly good teachers sitting around in the office.
- If there is an issue, talk to the bosses. I had to leave the country for personal matters in mid June for a few days and my bosses were very understanding. Bosses have to lay down the law but they are understanding for the most part.
- Work hard! You only get as much out of an internship as much as you put into it. If you go above and beyond it can only benefit your knowledge.
- If you commute, read on the train! It’ll make the commute so much easier and more bearable.
Work has been a great experience thus far and I hope to keep making the most of it for the rest of my time there!
