This summer I had the opportunity to start an internship at Mil Mujeres legal services. This organization helps immigrant women and men, who have experienced violence in the US, apply for visas. The reason I took on this internship was to both gain experience in legal work and also help the community I grew up knowing. Although I have been at my internship for almost two months I am excited to continue to learn more about the legal work that goes into applying for visa and family based petitions.
In my post undergrad career, I wish to attend law school and continue to help the immigrant community by specializing in immigration law. This internship has really helped me see that is the path I want to take.
