After finally receiving my security clearance, I began working at my second summer internship at the Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Office for Civil Rights on July 10th, 2017.
Everyone has been very welcoming so far, and the work has been engaging and meaningful–these past two weeks have been filled with learning! I am working on the Equal Employment Opportunity Program (EEOP), which essentially ensures that all organizations which received money from the Department of Justice abide by certain regulations and incorporate women and minorities in their workforce relative to their communities. My task is to develop an entirely new set of FAQs to be included on the EEOP website, as well as to assist with reviewing their EEO utilization reports (workforce reports).
I look forward to continue getting to know the other interns as well as the rest of my coworkers!
