As my internship nears its end, I have taken time to reflect on my experience. It was a quick 3 months filled with learning and hours in the lab. This internship has given me hands-on experience with mice/rat brains, kidneys, livers, and plasma. I learned how to run Western Blots, manage data, and work safely in the lab. Although I am satisfied with my experience, I don’t think Corporate America is a good fit for me. I am much too antsy to spend a majority of my day at my desk, and I would much rather interact with patients than be in a lab. Nonetheless, it was cool to see how corporate research works. I am hoping to explore academia research this upcoming school year.
I want to send a big thank you to everyone who made this internship possible for me. I was supported throughout my entire experience by my family, friends, and coworkers; I wouldn’t have been so successful without your guidance. I am excited to see what opportunities next year brings me!
