5 Photos of Farm Life | Blog Post #1

Just to summarize, first thing in the morning we do “chores” which are tasks done every morning. These include taking care of the animals and watering small plants in the hoop house. The farm I work at has a small herd of cattle which need to be moved into fresh pasture every morning and given fresh water. At the same time, someone may be taking care of the chickens by moving them into fresh pasture, feeding them, and giving them fresh water. After that, a  large majority of the day is spent harvesting vegetables, weeding, or planting new plants.

What a great opportunity to serve the community Remmington. How did you hold up on the afternoons that Michigan had the high temperatures along with humidity?

Not well! Luckily if it is predicted to be too hot we will start the day earlier and end an hour earlier so we do not have to be in the hot afternoon sun for too long.
