As my internship and summer comes to a close, I have been participating in end-of-summer evaluations and reflecting on my strengths as well as development areas. Considering areas I excel in, in addition to skills or areas I could improve upon, has given me some insight into careers that are better suited for my personality. For example, I found that I was always hesitant on the phone with customers, and even though I was able to improve throughout the summer, sales and other careers that involve a lot of communication and networking with strangers outside my organization may not be the path I would be most successful in. In contrast, I realized I am good at networking within an organization and leading others, which has made me further consider a career path in which I would eventually manage others. I have always considered the possibility of graduate school, but this realization makes me more likely to consider and research Master of Management and MBA programs.
