Looking back on my summer internship, I am reminded of how fortunate I was to have this opportunity to explore career paths in the financial industry. My summer internship has given me new perspectives about my future. For example, I always planned on entering an MBA program directly after graduation. However, after speaking with several professionals about their educational and career path, I have decided to work after graduating and then get my MBA later. All of the mentors I spoke with entered the work force before obtaining their MBA. One reason why they appreciated waiting to get their MBA was because they were able to gain so much experience working that helped them in their graduate program. They were also able to figure out what areas of business interested them most, and chose a program accordingly. Both of those reasons appeal to me and have helped me shape my future goals.
