One of my biggest worries when preparing for my internship was: how the heck am I going to survive LA?? LA is one of the biggest cities in the entire world. It’s unnerving to come to such a huge city on my own, even if it’s for a short period of time.
The first few days, I had to get used to driving in LA, parking in LA, and even grocery shopping in LA. The culture and way of life is so different than Nashville’s and Ann Arbor’s. However, by week two, I felt more relaxed and at home. I was pleasantly surprised at how I handled city life.
I didn’t focus too much on how geography would affect me when accepting this internship, or, I didn’t think it would affect me as much as it did. LA is truly a different world than what I’m used to.
This time next year, I’ll have graduated, and after this test-drive experience in LA, I feel so much more confident and comfortable with the idea of moving to LA.
