Working on the campus of the University of Michigan during the summer has been really nice. There has been a lot of events happening that are walking distance from my lab and I’ve taken advantage of this. I’ve participated in several research presentations that are not directly related to my field of interest which actually turn out to be very interesting for me. One of my favorite presenters is Christiane Wobus who talked about her work with Enteric Viruses. It amazes me on the level of confidence that biologists feel when they believe they’ve had a breakthrough in their work because their work will help with people’s health. I guess what I’m trying to say is that there is so much not known (or so many variables involved) in the human body yet they are able to work through that and be successful at the objective. Maybe I should try working in a biology lab to get a better understanding of the field.
