I received some exciting news this morning. We finally got the mice we’d been waiting for. That means that we can finally proceed with our experiment which is really exciting because we will start to collect some good data. Over the past couple weeks we’ve been doing some smaller side projects that have been giving good data but what we really want we can’t get without these mice. However, while the holdup was annoying, it has shown me one of the often overlooked aspects of research: mice being a barrier. Without the correct number and type of mice we needed, we were pretty much at a standstill in terms of continuing with our project. Nonetheless, today we started our cells in culture and will start collecting data next week which is great. I’m sure I’ll be back on here soon as we start to collect data.
