My perspective on experimental research has changed a lot this summer. I’ve realized that a lot of planning has to go into experiments before it can actually be done. Often times, this means there is a lot of work that has to be done before even thinking about the science behind the experiment. This requires learning a lot of engineering and mechanical information on top of the science. However, these are really important things to learn in general for life.
One of my favorite memories from this summer was actually a book that was lent to me by the graduate student I work with. It’s called “the life-changing magic of tidying up” and actually has changed my perspective on how I view my possessions.
