I’ve grown a lot over the course of this trip. It’s my first time out of the United States so I had plenty of obstacles to overcome. The most important however is confidence in my ability to be an adult – which is right around the corner! During this trip I’ve had to live 100% independently of my mother. When I was having conflicts with my boss, or when I had an allergic reaction and couldn’t call my mom, I had to take matters into my own hands. Independence and adaptability are key characteristics of adulthood.
I also learned about effective communication and showing initiative in the workplace.
