Every week my lab has lab meetings where the students working on research present new updates. As the only undergrad in the lab presenting to people with much more knowledge and experience was quite intimidating. As the weeks went on, the pressure only increased as I was expected to keep improving my results weekly. This lab is definitely one of the more clinical labs, so the hours expected to work were far greater than a normal 9-5 day. Most lab meetings were held after 6pm sometimes 8pm so that the residents could finish rounding. Often my work days would wind up being 9am-9pm, as the meetings can take a few hours to get through everyone’s presentations.
