The research lab I had the privilege of joining has garnered world recognition in liver cancer research, with its ever increasing amount of publications. The team is led by extremely talented and motivated physicians and PhDs and has made its mark in the world of cutting-edge cancer research. After spending a few months with this team I have learned that the success of this group comes from how close each of the members works with one another. The group consists of interventional radiologists, residents, PhDs, medical students, and even engineering post-graduate students. All of these individuals pool their efforts to help carry out a number of ongoing projects that often act in parallel. Everyone knows each other’s projects and is always looking to contribute themselves or connecting others with people who could contribute. Such a cohesive group is essential to the success of this magnitude.
