This internship reaffirmed my decision to pursue a political science degree rather than an engineering degree. I felt how meaningful everything I accomplished was, and I know I want to keep working in the public sphere.
There were some lawyers and law interns at this internship that I met and learned from, including one current Georgetown Law student who went to the University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree in political science. I am now thinking about the potential benefits of going to law school. I see law school as a way for me to gain credibility in this line of work, but I need to explore it more to see if it’s the right choice for me.
I also see working on a campaign in my future. At The Public Interest Network, we had to work with canvassers and field directors a lot, and the work they did created meaningful, direct results.
