Throughout my internship working in research, I feel I have gained real life experience that can be useful and applied to other areas of my life. After seeing all the work that my mentor put into just preparing for the study, let alone actually gathering participants and data, I have a newfound and deeper appreciation for doctoral students and researchers. I was not aware of quite everything that was necessary for these projects. This also made me realize that obtaining a PhD is likely not the route for me, and that a career as a researcher is definitely not my first choice. While I enjoy research and appreciate it, I do not think I would be fully happy if it was my entire career. However, I am still extremely grateful that I had this opportunity! I do not regret it at all. I simply just learned a bit more about myself!
