A problem I had coming into this job was not being direct when communicating with people. I was in the habit of starting a topic and if someone seemed to not be interested, I would steer off topic and try to bring them back. This internship is teaching me to be more direct with people, without offending or being mean of course. Instead of bringing another focal point of conversation into the mix, I would keep mentioning what I am at the door for. This tells the person I am communicating with that I mean business and care about what I am doing.
