My favorite experiences are working at the free Baby Immunization Clinic on Wednesdays. It is mandatory that the babies in the Philippines are immunized or the parents can get sued. All of the immunizations happen from 1 month to 1 years old. I was only able to administer an oral vaccine because I did not have the medical knowledge of administering a shot. I enjoyed working there because I love babies. Filipinos consider it normal for people to want to play with their babies. I would go around and introduce myself to the babies. When it is time for their vaccine, I would be a familiar face to them and use that as a distraction to get them to relax. I like being there to comfort them as they cry. Some people might think that theres no point in it because there are not long term patients. To me, the point was to provide comfort immediately.
