Things are looking great; I’ve been getting ready for this internship for a while now. It feels great to have the chance to get the community I grew up in involved in understanding how their health decisions affect their everyday lives. I still have to figure out how I am going to structure this course. Fortunately, I have been involved with ACCESS since high school, this was not an entirely new environment and it felt comforting to know that I am familiar with the expectations of me and how I can grow on the experiences I have had with this organization. Being connected with the youth I am working with, I believe, will help me establish deeper connections with the participants of the program. I’m looking forward to elaborating on the research behind the intersection of mental, nutritional and physical health!
