Blog Post #6- Final Reflection

Last view of my workspace before leaving

I had my final day at my internship two weeks ago. It was Thursday in the office, and it was rather bittersweet. By this time, a lot of my colleagues have left and went back to their respective schools. On top of that, new interns have started at the job.

I’ve had a lot of time to reflect on this internship since leaving, and I’ve learned 3 major things:

  1. I don’t know everything there is to know about this industry, and that’s okay
  2. I shouldn’t torture myself to be a perfect employee at all times
  3. It’s important to always do the right thing.

Truthfully, this internship has been stressful in that the hours are unstable, you can deal with a lot of egos, and a lot of the tasks you have to complete don’t always make sense. Regardless, I look forward to working in the music industry after I graduate. I think knowing this now, I can expect to adapt moving forward in this industry. For people doing this internship, I recommend finding people you can really confide in and go to for advice.
